Design for Accessibility
At Exterro, I led the creative transformation of the company’s visual identity during a critical brand evolution period. Legal technology is notoriously dense, complex products serving risk-averse audiences who need clarity above all else. My challenge was to make Exterro’s brand feel modern, accessible, and authoritative while never sacrificing the precision their legal and compliance customers demanded.
I partnered with cross-functional stakeholders to design comprehensive brand-compliant graphics including infographics, webpage design, identity systems, and executive presentation materials. My role was pivotal in Exterro’s major brand relaunch, where I developed cohesive visual style guides and product naming systems that positioned the company for accelerated growth. This wasn’t cosmetic work, it was strategic repositioning that gave Exterro the visual credibility to compete with larger, more established players.
I collaborated with development teams to create user-centric websites and data visualizations that transformed complex legal technology concepts into accessible visual experiences. E-discovery, legal hold management, data privacy compliance, these aren’t topics that naturally lend themselves to engaging design. But that’s exactly why intentional visual storytelling mattered. I built design systems that made the complicated feel manageable.
I also established new creative standards and workflows that elevated marketing collateral quality across all channels, trained internal teams on brand guidelines, and created templates that empowered non-designers to execute on-brand work within strict project timelines.
Always with intention. Never just compliance checklists.

I don’t write many recommendations, but am happily doing so for Amber. She was an extremely valuable member of our team right from the start. In addition to bringing a level of design professionalism that had been lacking in our company, she also helped lead a re-branding project and then re-created every piece of collateral and external facing content. She was greatly respected and liked not just by her team, but everyone in the company with whom she interacted. Any team would be strengthened with her on it.

I had the pleasure of working with Amber for the past year at Exterro and was very sad to see her go. Amber is an extremely talented designer who has the ability to take an idea and make it even better than you could have imagined at the outset. Her design talents span across both traditional and digital mediums and I was extremely impressed with her work in both areas. Amber is also great to work with and is collaborative, flexible and fun.
